Get great brand exposure at Boksburg clean-ups

BCP is in need of businesses to support their initiative that help to keep the community clean.

Do you want your business to make a meaningful difference this Mandela Month by helping to keep the community clean?

Then your business should support the Boksburg Community Project (BCP)’s #67DaysOfActivism campaign, aimed at improving the community through clean-ups.

This initiative started on June 29 on the corner of Brentwood and Ekster roads, where volunteers cleaned islands and curbs and picked up litter.

They are also planning to tackle areas such Atlas, North Rand and Rondebult roads, all within 67 days.

Helen Kruger, one of BCP’s founders, reiterated the importance of keeping a community maintained.

“We improve people’s outlook, and decrease petty crime and antisocial behaviour. A neat area also results in business investment,” said Kruger.

Kruger said BCP is proud to announce they have already been sponsored for 27 days by businesses including AAA Security, Century 21, Triple T Bus Hire, Blue Outsourcing, Ceramic Pro, Kegtails, Spur Alaska, Vital Engineering, Minuteman Press, SD Properties, Razak Attorneys, Elavate Group and Brand Expert.

“Our goal is to have every day sponsored by local businesses, prominently showcasing their brand and commitment to community welfare,” said Kruger.

Kruger explained participating businesses can secure their involvement by sponsoring a daily slot for R700.

“This contribution will support two workers for the day and cover essential supplies such as wages, black bags and rubbish removal. With a maximum of three slots available per day, businesses can maximise their impact and visibility by supplying banners for display in the area being cleaned,” said Kruger.

Furthermore, Heidi Leitch, a director at Homestead Helpers for Benoni said they will assist BCP clean up Atlas Road.

“It’s in everybody’s best interest to look after the community as the metro doesn’t always have the means to do so. It’s also nice to give something back,” said Leith.

Mandela Day
As part of the campaign, BCP will be hosting a Free Mandela Day networking event and community clean-up on July 18, featuring a business networking power hour, followed by 67 minutes of collective community service.

Tickets are available on eventbrite.com and BCP’s Facebook event page.

“Our journey culminates on September 14 at Impala Park Dam with a final clean-up and rejuvenation of the kiddies’ play area, sponsored by Alaska Spur in Atlasville,” said Kruger.
