Boksburg SPCA soon to begin Cheer Fund projects

The funds were raised to upgrade the boarding cattery and obtain clinic equipment and new kennel fronts for the puppy block.

The Boksburg SPCA will soon start the projects it raised funds for during its annual Christmas Cheer Fund, where they made R144 653.

The fund opened last November, intending to raise R100 000 by January 15.

Businesses, schools and individuals supported the fund, and the SPCA received donations ranging from R50 to R50 000.

The SPCA will use the funds to upgrade its boarding cattery and obtain clinic equipment and new kennel fronts for the puppy block.

They also used some of the funds to sterilise 15 animals.

According to the Boksburg SPCA secretary, Sue Beadon, the society is identifying companies to help execute the projects.

“We are getting quotations from the relevant stakeholders and will start with the projects soon,” said Beadon.

Beadon thanked those who opened their hearts to the SPCA by supporting the fund.
