Round Table’s Warm Fees is a success

Attendees enjoyed live performances by Martin Bester & Band, Jaryd Smith and others.

The Benoni-based Round Table Golden East 181 collected over 300 blankets and raised thousands of rands towards its Winter Knights Project during the organisation’s music festival, dubbed ‘Warm Fees’, on June 21 and 22.

During the two-day music festival, attendees enjoyed live performances by Martin Bester and Band, Jaryd Smith, Reckless Bones and Broke ‘n Free.

The entrance fee for the Warm Fees was a blanket, as the event was part of the organisation’s initiative to collect blankets for its Winter Knights Project.

Community members supported the event, which was sold out on both days.

Willie Oosthuizen, Barend de Klerk and Jaques Janse van Rensburg enjoyed the Warm Fees.

Round Table Golden East 181 chairperson Wesley Kloppers described the event as a success.

“We raised over R93 000 towards our Winter Knights projects. This included the blankets, non-perishable foods, donations and funds that were made from selling raffle tickets,” he said.

The table plans to drop donations off at local SPCA, various shelters and places of safety soon.

Kloppers thanked all the performers, attendees, and Spoorloos.

One of the performers, Nikita Oosthuizen, told the Boksburg Advertiser it was an honour to be part of the event.

“It is a great initiative, and the atmosphere is amazing,” she said.
