CANSA benefits from Boksburg Advertiser’s Winter Wool Drive

The Advertiser thanks those who support the project.

The Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) was recently blessed with about 30 hand-knitted teddy bears thanks to a donation to the Boksburg Advertiser’s Winter Wool Drive.

The community member, who wished to remain anonymous, donated the teddy bears at one of the drive’s drop-off points and requested they be donated to the organisation

Elize Kluyts, the advertising manager at the Advertiser, who co-ordinates the project, expressed her gratitude to the donor.

Kluyts said she is pleased with the community support the project has garnered.

“We’re extremely thankful to the public for opening their hearts to those in need by making donations. Their support will go a long way,” she said.

Wool donations will help the Advertiser support the various local groups that knit teddies and other items for distribution to organisations that look after the underprivileged, especially in winter. All qualities, quantities and textures are welcome. Knitted items such as beanies, scarves and blankets will also be appreciated.

Community members can make contributions until July 31.
