LETTER: Embrace your own garbage

Resident is doing her bit to reduce the trash council needs to deal with.

Yvette van der Merwe, Witfield, writes:

I have been living in Witfield for 27 years.

I taught my children about recycling and putting off-cuts from vegetables and fruit into the soil.

Our wheelie bins are mostly clean, and the recyclers take what they can reuse.

Dig a hole in your garden to bury items like bones and avo skins that are not good for dogs or birds to consume.

If everyone with gardens did this, the council’s landfill sites would show a massive decrease in garbage.
Embrace your own garbage.
