Local cop impresses at provincial combat rifle competition
Diedericks is now preparing for the KZN Combat Rifle Championships in Ladysmith on April 12 and 13.
Former Boksburg North SAPS member Sergeant Gerhard Diedericks performed well at the recent Eastern Cape Combat Rifle Championships in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth).
Diedericks, now affiliated with Gauteng Highway Patrol, represented the Gauteng South Provincial A team that scooped first place.
He was also part of the mixed Gauteng South team that brought home a silver medal.
The officer finished 39th out of 100 contestants in the X class (scope) when it came to individual shooting.
Members who competed were from SAPS, SANDF and SACRA and shot at distances of 100m, 200m and 300m.
Diedericks is now preparing for the KZN Combat Rifle Championships in Ladysmith on April 12 and 13.
