Campaign addresses men’s health

The workshop aimed to empower men to lead healthier lives.

Round Table Boksburg 17, in conjunction with Round Table Gauteng, held a men’s workshop on physical and mental health at Round Table Edenvale Gauteng as part of the Brovember health awareness campaign.

According to the local table’s chairperson, Cuan Maizey, the workshop enlightens, inspires and empowers men to a healthier and more fulfilling life.

“Our speakers Cobus ‘The Viking’ Visser and Munnik Marais had us on the edge of our seats with their mesmerising stories of triumphs, motivating the audience. We walked on glass – simulating how we should lean on others and approach our brothers when we need help to move forward,” Maizey said.

He said they also learnt the art of hugging.

“There is a right and a wrong way to hug someone, and I must say, it is the best hug you will ever give and get.”

Maizey was grateful to Visser and Marais for giving the men their time and educating them. “We are stronger today than we were yesterday, thanks to them.’”
