New Vispol commander for Boksburg North SAPS

Gadebe wants to bring back trust between the police and community members.

As the newly appointed Vispol commander at Boksburg North SAPS, Lieutenant Colonel Samuel Gamede’s priority is the safety of the community.

The Tshakani resident took over the reins from Lieutenant Colonel Thembi Skhosana who is now stationed at the district office.
Gamede said he is happy about his appointment, adding he knows it will be challenging.

“You have to put in the effort and deal with crime and ensure members do the their part to reduce crime and keeping community.
“I must also ensure complaints must be dealt with on time,” he highlighted.

The top cop joined the service in 1990, in Duduza, after completing the police training.

Before transferring to Boksburg North, Skhosana worked at various police stations, including Springs and Benoni SAPS.

Apart from focusing on the community’s safety, Gamede also wants to bring back the trust between community members and the police.

“I also want to work with the CPF and other stakeholders. They play a big in crime prevention. If we work together, we can do more. We need people to be our eyes and ears,” he pointed out.
Gamede wants police visibility to improve to curb crimes such as hijackings.
