Light a candle in celebration of loved ones

Get your tickets for Hospice’s celebration of life.

The hustle and bustle of everyday life often seems to whirl past at the speed of light making it seem like we’re continuously rushing from one place to another.
As days seem to blur into an endless string of things to do, it is important to take some time, pause, reflect on life and celebrate the people whose presence weave beauty into your tapestry of life.

Hospice East Rand, invites you, your friends and family to celebrate the splendour of life at its annual Candles Celebration, on October 14.

The event will be taking place at St Dunstan’s EJ Butler Centre from 17:00 to 20:00, with an exclusive performance by Jesse Clegg, son of legendary Johnny Clegg.

The line-up will include a transformational talk by Nicky Dickson, a narrative therapist and co-creator at the Institute for Creative Conversation, which promises to pull at your heartstring and leave you with a renewed appreciation for life’s journey.

As the sun sets, everyone will be invited to light a candle, to serve as beacons of love, remembrance and hope to celebrate the loved ones, those journeying through life-limiting disease and to remember those who have passed on.

The Benoni Pipe band along with other local talent will also grace the stage.

Grab a bite from various food vendors or pack your own scrumptious picnic basket.
Bring a blanket to secure your spot or make use of the seating provided, however you choose to celebrate ensure you have got a ticket for this year’s spectacular event.

Tickets are available now from under Hospice East Rand with funds raised going directly to the organisation’s ongoing home-based palliative care services.
Donations can also be made to Hospice East Rand, ABSA, account number 0710465673, branch code 630242, using Candles as reference.
