Market brings welcome boost to Lilianton enclosure project

The market was again a success.

The Lilianton Residents’ Enclosure Committee’s community market at the New Apostolic Church on September 2 raised R8 000.

The NPO held the fundraiser for the proposed enclosure of the suburb.

One of the organisers, Charlene Day, said she was delighted with the outcome of the market, adding they have now raised about R20 000 between this market and the previous one.

“People still came out to support us, even though there were other markets in the area.”

The sources of income included stand fees and raffle tickets.
The South African National Blood Service collected 16 units of blood at the market. Their target was 20.
