In commemoration of Mandela Day, the Tambo Memorial Hospital staff, in partnership with various stakeholders, spent 67 minutes of Mandela Day giving to underprivileged hospital patients.
They made sure these patients were warm and had full tummies on July 18.
The stakeholders embarked on various projects, such as the painting of the hospital hall by staff members, soup and sandwiches sponsored by Noble Beginnings, and served to patients to keep them warm and full while in the waiting rooms.
The Humanity Foundation, Benoni Ladies Forum and some hospital staff members donated warm winter essentials that were distributed amongst the patients at Ward 15.
The hospital surgeons and doctors also took part in a marathon surgery done across the province by healthcare facilities in commemoration of International Mandela Day.
