Care centre desperate for food

Immediate requirements include spreads for bread, porridge, maize meal and rice.

The Manger Care Centre (MCC) appeals for food donations from food manufacturers, suppliers and individuals.

“We are struggling to provide essential nourishment to those in our care, and we deeply believe in the power of community support in times of need,” said the MCC’s Andrew Wessels.

Immediate requirements include spreads for bread, porridge, maize meal, rice, beans, pilchards, fresh vegetables, tinned foods, potatoes, soup mixes, and, if possible, processed meat items.

Coffee, tea, sugar, and milk are not essential but will make a significant difference in helping them meet the nutritional needs of the beneficiaries.

“We welcome bulk deliveries and collections because we strive to support other NPOs in our community. Sharing resources allows us to extend our reach and make more of an impact in fighting hunger and supporting vulnerable populations.

“Rest assured, we have logistics in place to facilitate pick-ups if needed, ensuring a smooth and efficient process,” Wessels said.

Those willing to assist can call Elize Engelbrecht on 076 439 4909 or email fundraiser22@mangercare.co.za for more information.
