Petting zoo visits the elderly

The residents enjoyed interacting with the animals.

Residents from Ridgeview Retirement Village were treated to a fun-filled morning with farm animals during a visit from The Farm Corner petting zoo on May 8.

These visits aim to provide an exciting educational experience for children and others by bringing friendly, woolly farm animals to them.

Seen here are Godfrey and Libby Main with a goat and a sheep.

Animals that joined the visit included a donkey, horse, calf, guinea pigs, chickens, bunnies and a tortoise.
During the visit, residents interacted with the different animals and fed them.

Ridgeview manager Liza Oosthuizen said it was an amazing experience for residents.

“So many residents came to feed the animals despite the wet weather,” she added.
