Boksburg SPCA gets new tyres

The company challenges others in the locomotive industry to support their local SPCA.

To improve the safety of the Boksburg SPCA’s vehicle fleet and any occupants, Anderbolt’s Atlas Hi-Q empowered the organisation with a set of new tyres on March 18.

The management of the tyre fitment centre committed to continuing to support the SPCA’s fleet and urged others to emulate Hi-Q.

The centre replaced the worn-out tyres of one of the SPCA’s bakkies with R5 500 worth of Voyager tyres to ensure the vehicle is safe for daily journeys.

Hi-Q managing director Sean Harrison said it was fantastic to support this good cause.

“We saw a need to support the SPCA in Boksburg after we picked up on Facebook that they were struggling to keep one of their vehicles on the road.

“We felt that, in keeping with Hi-Q’s philosophy which is to support the communities in which we operate, we needed to lend a helping hand,” explained Harrison.

“Today, we are standing here at Hi-Q Boksburg, which is supporting the fitting of these new products, and we are excited about fitting the locally manufactured product (Voyager) that is our house brand.

“We will be looking after the vehicle going forward, and we are going to have a special affinity with Boksburg. We will work closely with them, and would like to challenge anybody else in the locomotive industry to support their local SPCA and the community at large.”

SPCA secretary Sue Beadon said they are grateful for the donation of new tyres.

“Our vehicles are on the road 24/7, 365 days a year, fetching animals, including sick and unwanted animals, and it’s vital that our vehicles are on the road because having vehicles that are off the road has a negative effect on animal welfare and our community,” said Beadon.

“To Hi-Q Atlas, to Grant Myers (the store owner) and Hi-Q MD Sean Harrison, we are grateful for this donation because having reliable tyres for our vehicles is fundamental for the safety of our team and the services we provide.

“We rely entirely on public donations to keep us going and to keep our fleet on the road, and this is a fabulous donation for us. Thank you, thank you.”
