The state assures the nation that measures are in place to prevent and combat any acts of criminality during the planned EFF’s mass protest.
Philani Doyisa: It is not safe, but it’s a good thing in a way because they are fighting for our rights as well. It is all a risk but for a good cause.
Meriam Chauke (businesswoman): I’m still thinking about whether to sell food on Monday. Business will be slow and not opening for the entire day will make us lose profit. I support what they are doing but not how they are doing it.
Samson Malaza: I am working on Monday. I do not like the way they do things. They do not involve or consult with us first; they act right away. They are fighting for the right thing in a wrong way.
Francois Lottering: I am working on Monday. If it is unsafe to go out I will work from home. We will have to wait and see what happens on Monday.
Sofie Chauke: I prefer staying at home for safety. I am afraid of the protestors in case something goes wrong.
