Metro says Rietfontein Road is a “priority” when it comes to potholes but …

The road carries heavy volumes of traffic every day.

The Boksburg Advertiser put in a query to Ekurhuleni metro regarding the bad shape Rietfontein Road is in with regard to potholes, particularly between North Rand and Madeley roads.

With the massive volume of traffic the road carriers every day and the huge trucks that favour this route, the potholes are making it a dangerous for motorists as it is not always possible to swerve out to avoid them.

Ekurhuleni metro spokesperson Zweli Dlamini said today (February 17) that Rietfontein Road is one of the “priority” roads when it comes to their Roads and Pavement Management System.

“Therefore, as and when the weather permits, potholes are attended to. So yes, Rietfontein Road will be receiving attention soon but, unfortunately, the weather is quite challenging when it comes to the development of potholes,” he said.
