Have your say on water service by-laws

Comments on the matter must be in by March 31.

The City of Ekurhuleni calls on the community to participate in the process of drafting the new Water Service By-laws.

The Draft Water Services By-law intends to give effect to clause 11 Chapter 3 of the Water Services Act (Act 108 of 1997), which puts a duty to the City as a water service authority to progressively ensure efficient, affordable, economical and sustainable access to water services to all consumers and/or potential consumers in its area of jurisdiction.

Anyone wanting to comment on the proposed City of Ekurhuleni Water Services By-laws Draft can email Waterservicebylaw@ekurhuleni.gov.za. by no later than March 31.

Comments can also be directed to the office of the Head of Department: Water & Sanitation, City of Ekurhuleni, 6th floor Civic Centre, Boksburg, corner Trichardts Road and Market streets.

Alternatively, the public can go to their nearest customer care centre to submit their comments.

Public meetings in your area will take place as follows (14:00 to 16:30):

• Daveyton and Etwatwa (January 27, Mbikwa Cindi Hall).

• Vosloorus (February 28, Vosloorus Civic Hall).

• Benoni and Boksburg (March 2, Boksburg City Hall).
