N12 highway: 16 injured when taxi overturns
There were no serious injuries or fatalities.
Sixteen people were injured when the taxi they were travelling in overturned on the N12 eastbound near Kraft Road, in Boksburg on January 18.
Russel Meiring, communications officer for ER24, said their and other services arrived on the scene at 06:46 to find the taxi on its side in the emergency lane.
“The passengers were seated along the roadside barriers.
“Medics assessed the patients and found 16 adults had sustained minor to moderate injuries. There were no serious injuries or fatalities.
“The patients were treated and later transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
“Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations,” said Meiring.
