Paw-some support for SPCA’s golf day

The funds raised will be used to replace the society's kennel roofs.

The Boksburg SPCA is delighted with the outcome of their golf day at Benoni Lake Club on September 28, where they raised R110 000 for the society.

According to Boksburg SPCA manager Vicky Finnemore, the day exceeded their expectations.

“It was a fabulous day of golf followed by eats and a prize-giving.”

Finnemore explained the funds raised will go towards replacing the society’s kennel roofs.

“Boksburg SPCA is 72 years old. Our kennel roofs are rusted, disintegrating and desperately need replacing.

Hence, the funds from our golf day will be allocated to this project,” she added.

The manager expressed her gratitude towards those who contributed to the success of the day.

“We thank Michael Hiscox and his family, Benoni Lake Club for a great venue, the committee members for their hard work and the companies that sponsored holes and four-balls, donated prizes as well as the individual golfers that came out. We had a full field.

“A special mention to Ixiom Network Solutions who put up an R50 000 hole-in-one prize on the day.”
