Help property group collect one million sanitary pads

The campaign will run until they have reached their goal.

A growing concern for many young women in township and rural areas is their access to sanitary pads.

Not being able to afford this basic necessity results in learners missing school every month and may lead to dropping out of school altogether.

SA Corporate Real Estate Limited, one of the oldest and most established companies within South Africa’s property sector, created the SOS Campaign – which stands for Support Our Schools – in July 2018 as a tribute to the late statesman and humanitarian Nelson Mandela.

This year, they have chosen to address this particular problem in schools to increase awareness of the situation and the impact that it has on the education of young women in our country.

The campaign officially launched on Mandela Day with drop-off points at East Point Shopping Centre, Boksburg, Montana Crossing, Midway Mews and Cambridge Crossing.

To kick-start the campaign, the four participating shopping centres have donated 2 250 pads.

If you would like to participate, drop one or more packs of sanitary pads in the collection baskets at the shopping centres.

The campaign will continue to run until they meet their target of one million sanitary pads donated to schools in need.

There are lots of ways you can participate.

Volunteers can promote the campaign at the shopping centres.

If you are interested, you can send a message on Facebook and they will provide you with more information.

If you can spare a few seconds share the campaign post across social media by posting the post pinned to the top of each shopping centre’s Facebook page.

Once donated at the shopping centre nominate a friend to do the same.
