Sibikwa Arts Centre to host dance festival

It is an inclusive event.

Mantsoe Amacha Theatre and Dance Festival will host a creative storytelling session at Sibikwa Arts Centre on September 3 and 4 as part of Heritage Month.

The festival is designated to present performances and workshops that reimagine perspectives of identity, tradition and contemporary society.

Mantsoe Amacha features performances and workshops by Sibikwa Sisters, Lucky Dube Dance Theatre in collaboration with Tulasi Entertainment, Vuna Lunka Vision, KwaSha Theatre Company, Spana Black Production and Tefo Paya.

Keitumetse Tankga of Sibikwa Arts Centre said artists will also facilitate workshops using creative theatre tools for young participants to form narratives that are authentic to their lived experiences.

“Offering intimate perspectives on journeys of self-discovery, questioning the guided landscape of culture and tradition and navigating the challenges we face in our contemporary world, the festival encourages young audiences to explore a way to reflect, express and shape their narratives,” said Tankga.
