Tambo Babies back on track

Tambo Babies will aim to assist new born babies once a month.

Tambo Babies Boksburg recently donated hampers of baby clothing, blankets and nappies to mothers of newborn babies at the Tambo Memorial Hospital for the first time since February 2020.

The organisation was unable to make donations to the hospital due to the Covid-19 pandemic. They did, however, still made donations to needy people in the community where possible.

According to Tina Moolman from Tambo Babies, the staff were pleased to have the organisation back.

Moolman explained the donation was made possible by the initiative, Carry On 4 Babies, from the UK.

She highlighted Tambo Babies is now hoping to do a delivery once a month.

They need baby clothing (0-3 months), blankets and nappies.

Tambo Babies was launched by deacon Barbara Morrison in 2013 when she heard the plight of newborn babies being discharged from hospitals wrapped in newspapers and bin bags.

The organisation handed out hampers to the mothers of newborns every second week before the lockdown was implemented.

If you can assist, contact Tina on 073 345 1419.
