Another ATM targeted in Reiger Park

This incident came hardly a month after five ATMs were bombed at Stallion Shopping Complex less than 3km apart.

The Boksburg Advertiser has been made aware of what appears to have been an attempted ATM bombing at the Reiger Park Shopping Centre during the early hours of this morning (June 5).

While the police have not yet responded to the Advertiser’s request for confirmation of the incident, a source who was at the scene in Leon Ferreira Drive said the suspects, believed to be two men, used detonators to force open a shutter door to gain entry to the FNB ATM.

It’s unclear why the suspects abandoned their supposed mission but our source said police and private security companies responded to the scene.
