Impala Park murder matter postponed again

The matter will resume on November 10.

The 73-year-old Impala Park resident Evan Swanson who allegedly shot and killed his neighbour once again appeared at the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on November 9.

Swanson is charged with murder for shooting Klaas du Toit (37) twice in the upper body on August 18. Swanson indicated to the court that the shooting was in self-defence.

In his previous appearance on October 23, Swanson indicated that he wanted the bail conditions to be amended.

Swanson was granted R5 000 bail on September 4 with the condition he resides with his daughter in Edenvale until the court finalises the matter. He must also report to the Edenvale Police Station every Friday.

The matter was postponed to November 10 as the magistrate who presided over his bail conditions was sick.

It is expected that a new date for the amendment of his bail conditions will be set during his next appearance.
