Unlicensed firearms and stolen goods

The Ekurhuleni district central crime intelligence in partnership with Dawn Park police arrested a suspect in possession of a suspected unlicensed 9mm pistol, six live ammunition, bullet vests and stolen goods, in Windmill Park, on May 21.

Ekurhuleni district communications officer Captain Nelda Sekgobela said the suspect is incarcerated at the Dawn Park Police Station.

Murder

The Dawn Park SAPS arrested four men for allegedly assaulting and killing a person in Windmill Park, on May 16.
According to Dawn Park police spokesperson, Sergeant Nkemeleng Mbula, police were notified about the body by a passerby.

“Police went to the scene of the crime and found a body with stabbed wounds. It is alleged that five men approached and assaulted the deceased, accusing him of stealing clothes.”

Preliminary investigations led to the arrest of the four suspects in Windmill Park on May 16. The last suspect was arrested on May 18.

Robbery

The Dawn Park SAPS arrested a suspect who allegedly held the parents of his ex-girlfriend at gunpoint, on May 16.

The Dawn Park SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Nkemeleng Mabula, said a case of pointing a firearm was opened at the station on the day.

“It is alleged that the suspect went to his ex-girlfriend’s home and found his ex-girlfriend’s parents. He then became aggressive and held them at gunpoint, while demanding to see his ex-girlfriend. The parents told him they don’t know where their child was, and then he left.”

Police investigations led to the arrest of the suspect, on May 18.
Dagga

The Dawn Park police arrested two suspects in possession of dagga, in Windmill Park, on May 16.
