• A 28-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stabbing his 59-year-old father on April 1. The Boksburg Magistrate’s Court released him on April 11 due to insufficient evidence.
The suspect was on the run after the stabbing, with the father being declared dead upon arrival at Tambo Memorial Hospital. The Reiger Park police arrested the man in Ramaphosa on April 9, following a tip-off from community members.
• A man was arrested for smashing the window of his girlfriend’s car on April 4, apparently after a heated argument.
The arrest came after a case of malicious property damage was opened at the Reiger Park Police Station two days earlier.
• While the crime prevention members were on patrol on April 6, they received a tip-off about dagga being sold from a house in Ramaphosa.
They acted swiftly and visited the premises where they found two men and dagga, which led to their arrest.
