12 commuters injured in Boksburg collision

Law enforcement agencies were on the scene for further investigations

Twelve people were injured during a head-on collision involving two minibus taxis on Commissioner Street, Boksburg CBD, on December 3.

According to ER24 spokesperson, Ross Campbell, emergency services, including the ER24 paramedics, DEMS fire department, Gauteng Emergency Medical Services (EMS) paramedics, and other private medical services responded to the incident where three passengers were found to be entrapped and critically injured.

“They were extracted by the fire department, treated and transported to hospital by ambulances. ER24 treated one seriously injured patient with advanced life support interventions before transporting them to hospital for further care,” said Campbell.
Campbell pointed out that the remaining eight patients were treated for minor to moderate injuries, and transported by both GPG and the other private services on the scene.
Law enforcement agencies were on the scene for further investigations.
