Illegal weapons and drugs
On November 11, Reiger Park police descended on known crime hot spots where they conducted random stop-and-search operations, looking for drugs, guns and other illegal items.
During the law enforcement activities, officers found a 53-year-old Lesotho national in possession of an unlicenced firearm and live ammunition.
The weapon will be sent for ballistic testing as part of the investigation to check if it was involved in other gun-related crimes recently reported in the area.
Another man was arrested after being found in possession of drugs.
Both suspects were scheduled to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court.

Also over the weekend, a 35-year-old man, Alex Khumalo, was shot dead in Ramaphosa informal settlement while he was playing a gambling dice game.
