Boksburg High School educators have been recognised as the best-performing high school educators in computer applications technology (CAT) within the Ekurhuleni South district.
The awards were recently presented at Royal Schools Sky City Watervalspruit.
Two educators, Thenjiwe Matiwane and Lungiswa Mbhele, who teach CAT, achieved a remarkable 100% pass rate for the Grade 12 CAT class of 2024, with 77 learners passing and 12 earning distinctions.
Matiwane expressed her excitement on receiving the accolade.

“I am proud of myself and this recognition proves that hard work pays off. It is evident in the performance of the learners
“I taught. I hope we can achieve similar results next year. I will continue working hard and pushing my learners,” Matiwane said.
For Mbhele, this award marked a significant milestone in her teaching career. Having joined Boksburg High School just last year, she was thrilled by the recognition.
“This is a stepping stone to greater things. Being acknowledged in my first year at the school means a lot to me.
“I love and enjoy what I do, and this would not have been possible without the support system from my colleagues. I am truly happy,” she shared.
Principal Enoch Thango expressed immense pride in his teachers’ achievements, emphasising the impact of their success on the school’s reputation.
“These teachers have placed our school on the map. This is the highest percentage in CAT since I joined Boksburg High School in 2020. I am very proud of them.
“Education is a team effort. While we celebrate individual successes, we must also recognise the collaborative spirit that makes the school what it is today. I encourage all educators to keep striving for excellence.”
