WATCH: Mall shoppers dive in as grocery retailer opens its doors
There has been many celebrations leading up to the opening of the store.

There was an air of excitement as Checkers at the East Rand Mall (entrance 4) is now officially open for business.
Shoppers were already queuing in front of the store as it opened its doors, following a ribbon-cut ceremony on September 26.
One shopper, Marie Fourie, expressed her excitement about this new addition to the mall.

“I already made a list of essential items that I want to buy at Checkers,” Fourie said.
In celebration of the store opening, Checkers and East Rand Mall both donated a R5 000 Checkers voucher to the Hanna Charity and Empowerment Foundation.
Furthermore, a stylish preview cocktail event was held at the store on September 23, for staff of East Rand Mall, Checkers head office and Boksburg Advertiser.
There was a definite air of celebration as guests toasted the completion of the store with glasses of champagne, a beautiful spread of food and live entertainment.
