Urban and Humanity Food Project, a vital initiative that provides much-needed meals to vulnerable members of the community, is in urgent need of a secure container to store their food supplies.

According to Clayton Viljoen, the founder of Urban Ruins and one of the key figures behind the food hub, the project is facing storage challenges that could hinder its operations if not addressed immediately.

“We need to install proper security to ensure that the food is safely stored.

“Having a secure container is essential to keep the project running smoothly and to ensure that we continue to meet the growing demand for food in the area.”

The Urban and Humanity Food Project, supported by Fluid and Water Technologies SA, has become a lifeline for NPOs and churches.

The project operates through a dedicated team of volunteers who distribute food to NPOs and churches in Boksburg and Benoni by supplying them with essential non-perishable foods for their feeding programmes.

Viljoen is calling on the community, businesses, and any willing partners to assist in securing a container as soon as possible.

“We need this container urgently. Without it, our ability to store and distribute food will be severely impacted,” he said.

Anyone who can assist is encouraged to contact the Urban and Humanity Food Project directly.

With the right resources in place, the Urban and Humanity Food Project will continue to serve as a beacon of hope for those who rely on its support.

“This is not just about food storage; it’s about ensuring that we can keep feeding those who need it most,” Viljoen concluded.
