The Boksburg Aquatic Saints (BAS) collected an incredible 76 medals to dominate the recent Eastern Gauteng Aquatics (EGA) Winter Championships at St Benedict’s College in Bedfordview.

The club won 15 gold, 29 silver and 32 bronze medals.

“All we can say is that the swimmers that took part at the recent EGA Junior and Senior Winter Champs performed beyond expectation. Two days of racing averaging six swims a day, the results spoke for themselves.

“After achieving personal best times in all of their races as well as numerous medals, it goes to show that the swimmers are definitely top of their respective age groups. Well done to all. Keep up the hard work,” said club secretary Rosy de Freitas.

De Freitas said there were exceptional performances by Troy Harding (11) who won three medals despite competing against 13 year olds, Tetelo Letsoalo who brought home home five gold medals and Terrick Le Roux with four golds.
