NG Kerk hosts successful third annual spring festival:

The vibrant gathering, which brought together the community in celebration of creativity and charity, was a resounding success.

NG Kerk Witfield held its highly-anticipated third annual Spring Festival on August 31, marking the first event since the Covid-19 lockdown.

Reverend Dr Pieter Kruger said the festival was designed to promote community cohesion and provide a platform for individuals to showcase their talents in handcrafts.

“This festival is more than a fundraising event; it is about bringing people together, fostering creativity and giving back to those in need.”

Besides the competition, the church set up stalls where people could sell their handmade goods, adding to the festive atmosphere.

In line with the charitable mission, Rev. Kruger said the church will also donate blankets to elderly homes, and children’s homes or wherever needed most.

The day was filled with activities for all ages, including various games that added to the lively atmosphere.

“The community’s enthusiastic participation was evident with a large turnout that exceeded expectations,” said Rev. Kruger.

“Every year, we strive to expand this event, and we are incredibly thankful for the support we receive.

“It is about more than just raising funds; it’s about getting the word of the Lord out there and showing our commitment to the community.”
