They are expected to appear in Boksburg Magistrate Court soon.

Reiger Park SAPS carried out an operation following a tip-off regarding a man in possession of a firearm on August 1.

Constable Johannes Msimanga, spokesperson for the police station, explained that upon arriving at the address officers found the suspect in bed.

“After obtaining permission to search the premises, the officers discovered a .38 special revolver, fully loaded with five rounds of ammunition, hidden under the suspect’s pillow.

“Four more rounds were found in a nearby drawer.

“The 42-year-old suspect was unable to produce a valid license for the firearm, leading to his immediate arrest at the scene. He is expected to appear in Boksburg Magistrate’s Court soon.”

Meanwhile, an 18-year-old and a 15-year-old male were arrested for armed robberies and possession of unlicensed firearms in Ramaphosa infomal settlement on August 3.

They are also expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court soon.
