Networking event celebrates girl power

The goal was to create an environment where these women could empower and support each other.

In celebration of Women’s Month, Ceramic Pro held a fun-filled and informative women’s get-together at BMW East Rand on August 6.

The event brought together a diverse group of women from various industries, like automotive, printing, marketing, insurance, advertising, life coaching and NPOs.

The goal was to create an environment where these women could empower and support each other across various fields.

The event was productive and lively, featuring a line-dancing session with Alicia Flemming.

Another highlight was when Erna Benson-Karp, a counsellor and life coach, gave the women tips on managing stress. The tips include focusing on the basics, such as eating healthy food, exercising and keeping a healthy sleep schedule.

Counsellor and life coach Erna Benson-Karp speaks about stress management and self-care tips.

“Do not put your eggs in one basket. Balance your time and energy between several areas, such as family, career and personal hobbies.

“It is okay for things not to always be perfect and to bring humour back into your life. Keep things in perspective. How important are your stressors in a broader context? Will they matter in a week, month or a year?

“Do not rely on compulsive behaviours, such as drugs and alcohol, to get you through a stressful time,” she advised.

Event organiser Cindy Schutz expressed satisfaction with the event because it helped the women connect and foster meaningful business relationships.

“I am pleased with the turnout and feel my event achieved my goal of connecting these women. I am confident they forged meaningful business relationships, and together, we can continue to support and uplift one another,” Schutz said.

Schutz said she has been to women’s networking events, providing valuable opportunities for women in business to connect and collaborate. Despite the challenges the pandemic presented, she tried to host at least one event annually, maintaining her commitment to fostering a supportive business community.
