DeaFusion company brings sign language to Urban Ruins

DeaFusion Company visited Urban Ruins to teach sign language to the youth, aiming to make the language accessible to as many people as possible.

DeaFusion Company, an organisation dedicated to promoting sign language, visited Urban Ruins to teach sign language to the youth on July 13.

The visit, spearheaded by Brigitte Smith from DeaFusion, marks the beginning of a broader campaign to promote and teach sign language across the community.

“With sign language confirmed as one of the official languages, we aim to make as many people as possible aware of this beautiful language and to teach as many people as we can.

“Deaf people are not all able to learn to speak, but hearing people can learn to sign. We decided to reach out to the youth at Urban Ruins as we believe they have the potential to become skilful learners,” she said.

“Urban Ruins, known for its significant contributions to youth development, was chosen as the starting point for DeaFusion’s outreach programme.”
