Organisation helps 100 kids

Since its inception, Thusang Community Development has been at the forefront of addressing the needs of vulnerable communities in Reiger Park.

Thusang Community Development in Reiger Park marked its third anniversary with a celebration of giving back to the community on June 29.

The organisation, known for its dedication to serving the people of Reiger Park, including areas such as Ramaphosa informal settlement, Delmore informal settlement, Joe Slovo informal settlement, and Jerusalema, reached a milestone by benefiting 100 children during this special occasion.

The anniversary event at Rock Church in Ramaphosa was a vibrant celebration filled with joy, gratitude and community spirit.

Children from various parts of Reiger Park gathered to receive toiletries, sanitary towels, and nutritious meals provided by the organisation.

Lufuno Mudzuli, the founder of Thusang Community Development, expressed fulfilment and gratitude.

“Our mission has always been to empower the community, and this celebration is proof of that mission.

“We believe in the potential of every child, and today we benefited 60 boys and 40 girls, ensuring they have the resources they need to thrive.

“Volunteers from the community and partnering organisations played a crucial role in organising and executing the event.”

The parents and guardians of the children expressed appreciation for the support from the organisation.

Since its inception, Thusang Community Development has been at the forefront of addressing the needs of vulnerable communities in Reiger Park.

As Thusang Community Development looks to the future, its commitment to empowering the community remains steadfast.

Lufuno Mudzuli shared her vision for the years ahead, “We will continue to expand our programmes, reach more children, and create sustainable change.

“Our journey has just begun, and with the support of our community, we can achieve even greater heights.”
