FOA players to tour Spain after successful Youth Cup

The club will be represented by eight U11, six U13, three U15, seven U17 and four U19 players in the Andalusian city of Malaga from July 7 to 14.

The Future of Africa (FOA) FC chairman, Mohamed Lawal expressed his delight after some of the club’s players were selected for the Football Union Team tour of Spain in July next year.

A total of 28 players made the cut after incredible performances during the Football Union Youth Cup where the club’s U13 and U19 teams walked away with the championships in their divisions on June 22.

The U15 and U17 teams clinched runners-up spots in the tournament after losing their finals on penalties.

The club, which has players from all over Ekurhuleni, will be represented by eight U11, six U13, three U15, seven U17 and four U19 players in the Andalusian city of Malaga from July 7 to 14.

Lawal said he was immensely proud of his club’s achievements, adding this selection marks a significant milestone for the players and will offer them a platform to gain experience and exposure in Europe.

“Our players have shown incredible talent and dedication. Their hard work has paid off and being selected for the Football Union Team tour of Spain is a fantastic opportunity for them to grow and develop further,” he said.

Their success at the recent Football Union Youth Cup and the selection of multiple players for the Spain tour underscores the FOA’s commitment to nurturing young talented players and fostering a bright future for football in Ekurhuleni, said Lawal.
