The Gauteng Province Baseball Council (GPBC) invites you to the U15 Baseball World Cup Golf Day at Benoni Lake Club on July 10.

The event will raise funds for the five provincial players going to represent SA at the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U15 World Cup in Colombia from August 15 to 24.

The Benoni Indians’ Josh Cook and Logan Gardener, as well as the Boksburg Cardinals’ Ethan Foley, Liam van der Westhuizen and Caylum de Wet are part of the 26-man national squad selected to do battle for the country at the global showpiece.

Cook, Foley and Van der Westhuizen are in the travelling squad while Gardener and De Wet are non-travelling reserves.

The players need to raise around R50 000 each to cover their flight tickets, visas and kit.

“Please help us get the boys to Colombia. If there’s anyone in the community with a corporate sponsorship to the entire team, it would be fantastic,” said the GPBC’s Braydon Bartle.

Tee-off for the gold day is at 11:00 for R3 000 per four-ball, including dinner at the prize-giving. Those interested will get an opportunity to sponsor a hole for R1 000.

To book, contact Braydon Bartle on braydonbartle@gmail.com or 073 158 9858 or Wendy Wessie on wendywessie@gmail.com or 084 688 5976.
