Mathulana Foundation marks Youth Day with festivities and generosity

The Mathulana Foundation brought the community together for a joyous Youth Day celebration from June 14 to June 16.

Mathulana Foundation, an NPO based in Windmill Park, brought the community together in a festive celebration for Youth Day, from June 14 to June 16.

The event was a vibrant mix of music, camaraderie and generosity, highlighting the foundation’s ongoing commitment to improving lives in Windmill Park.

According to Mbuso Magwaza, the foundation’s founder, the atmosphere was lively, with sounds of laughter and music filling the air, creating a joyful ambience that perfectly encapsulated the spirit of Youth Day.

The members of the organisation and some of the community members,

“We received donations from several organisations and individuals, including MNR Embroidery, which provided sports T-shirts for the staff and elderly women.

“Ackermans donated ladies jeans and other clothing items, while Umphile Molatudi, a community member contributed crocheted beanies.

“Additionally, Kids Haven Benoni donated soup and bread, which was served to the community and young teams playing on the foundation’s grounds.”

She added that the donations were distributed to the beneficiaries from June 14 to June 16.

Magwaza said the outpouring of support from the organisations and individuals was truly heartwarming.

“These contributions not only provided immediate relief but also encouraged us to persist in our mission of changing lives.

“Seeing the community come together in such a joyous and supportive manner reinforces our commitment to making a lasting impact,” said Magwaza.
