Police empower little ones

The children were also reminded to always stay close to their parents or guardians.

In line with the Child Protection Week, the Reiger Park SAPS visited two ECD Centres in Ramaphosa on June 5.

The visit was led by the Social Crime Prevention co-ordinator, accompanied by gender-based violence brigades.

According to the spokesperson of the Reiger Park Police Station, Constable Johannes Msimanga, the primary objective of the visit was to educate children on essential safety measures, such as never going onto the street alone, as they may be at risk of abduction or getting lost.

The children were also reminded to always stay close to their parents or guardians.

“The visit aimed to empower the children with vital knowledge to protect themselves and ensure their safety in various situations.

“This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts to promote child safety and protection, aligning with the objectives of Child Protection Week,” said Msimanga.
