Lace up your running shoes for the Johnson Crane Marathon

The organiser of the John Crane Marathon, Benoni Harriers, is urging the community to enter the 41st edition of the race on January 28 at Willowmoore Park.

The entries are open and the club is expecting a full field of runners, most of whom will be looking to qualify for the Comrades Marathon and Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon.

The race includes the 42.2km, 21.1km, 10km and 4km events.

Tonny Skink won the men’s 42.2km earlier this year.

Tonny Skink won the men’s marathon and legendary runner Charnè Bosman won the women’s marathon. Lucky Mohale won his sixth Johnson Crane Half-Marathon. Mapaseka Makhanya won the women’s 21.1km.

Sam Moloi and Simonay Weitz won the 10km while Grant Jones and Tatum Laybourn won the 5km.

Tonny Skink and Charnè Bosman won the men and women’s marathon.

The entry fee for the marathon is R295, R255 for the half-marathon and R135 for the 10km. To enter the 5km race, you will have to pay R70.

The 42.2km and 21.1km races will start at 05:30 while the gun will go off at 05:45 for the 10km and 5km events.
