Karateka make sensei proud

They won three golds, three bronze and two silver medals.

The Lotus Karate Club’s chief instructor, sensei Raveen Dayaram, said he is proud of his students after they won eight medals during the South African Shotokan Karate Academy (SASKA) National championships held at Brakpan Indoor Sports Centre on September 23.

Dayaram’s karateka won three golds, three bronze and two silver medals after their dominance in both kata and kumite.

Sanidhi Singh won a silver in kumite and bronze in kata while Zaniqua Joyce clinched a gold in kata and silver in kumite.

Precious Tshazi won a bronze in kumite, Krishthi Singh gold in kumite and bronze in kata and Yakshay Sewnarian took gold in kata.

“I’m extremely proud of my students. They represented the club well,” said Dayaram.
