Charity organisations benefit from Winter Wool Drive

Community members are welcome to make contribution till the end of July.

The Boksburg Advertiser recently donated knitted items to Kuselo Child and Youth Care Centre and St Anthony’s Day Care Centre, as part of its Winter Wool Drive.

This year’s drive has been the most successful to date, with the community donating wool and organisations knitting and crocheting round the clock to keep the needy warm this winter.

The items handed over to the charity organisations form part of a donation of 75 scarves, 46 beanies, a blanket and three pairs of booties from Scrappy Angels Quilting Group and Crazy Crochetters.

Ebbiegail Kramm from Kuselo and Ambrose du Plessis from St Anthony’s Day Care Centre expressed their gratitude to those who made it possible.

Project coordinator Elize Kluyts urged community members to open their hearts to help keep the needy warm.

Wool of all qualities, quantities and textures is welcome. Knitted items such as beanies, scarves and blankets will also be appreciated.

The items will be donated to organisations that care for the needy.
