SPCA gets two vehicles after estate winds up

The SPCA Boksburg now has two vehicles on the road to assist animals in need.

Christmas came early for the Boksburg SPCA when they recently received two vehicles because of a legacy left to the society by CEP Turnbull.

Boksburg SPCA manager Vicky Finnemore and cadet inspector Tshepo Sithole took delivery of a used, low-mileage Nissan NP200 and a Mahindra Scorpio Tonneau at Trunes Motors Boksburg.

Finnemore expressed her gratitude.
“At last, we can put out to pasture our faithful but unreliable petrol-guzzling 23-year-old Nissan Hardbody.”
The manager said they were notified last year that a legacy had been left to the Boksburg SPCA.
“One never knows the value of the legacy until the estate winds up, but we hoped and prayed it would be enough to replace our aged and increasingly unreliable Nissan.

“How unbelievably grateful we are to the estate of the late CEP Turnbull for her generosity in leaving this legacy to Boksburg SPCA, a legacy that ensured not one but two means of transport for our team.

“A legacy that will ensure for many years our inspectorate – on duty 24/7, 365 days a year – will have reliable transport to assist them in the fight against animal cruelty and help them be the voice of the voiceless. This is a gift with meaning,” added Finnemore.

Finnemore thanked Trunes Motors for sponsoring the licencing and registration of the vehicles, a radio for the Mahindra and anti-smash and grab windows for the passenger windows and Pieter de Rijk from Trunes Motors for looking for vehicles that suited the society’s needs.
