Ashton debutants donate to local charities

Learner-driven social responsibility programmes benefit four local charity organisations.

Ashton International College’s debutant and squires programme for 2022 recently made generous donations to four local charity organisations, including Hospice East Rand.

The programme is aimed at encouraging learners to participate in philanthropic and social responsibility projects by engaging in charitable work throughout the year.

“Hospice East Rand has been serving the community for more than 30 years, providing essential care and support to patients diagnosed with a life-limiting illness,” said Jonquil Siepman, marketing and media liaison. “Donations are critical to the ongoing success of our organisation, as well as others, in making an ongoing and sustainable difference within the community.”

She further states that school-based initiatives, such as these, help learners develop important skills and values, while making a real difference in the lives of those in need.

“We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the school for their support and partnership. The donation will help ensure that essential care and support continue to be provided to patients and families in the community,” she said.

Other beneficiaries which received donations include The Guardians, The Albinism Society of South Africa and the Boksburg SPCA.
