40, 30 and 20 years of service honoured

The medal parade was attended by the MMC of Community Safety K Rasilingwane, the Municipal Police Commissioner IJ Mapiyeye, and chiefs of police from different metropolitan regions.

EMPD awarded long service medals to officers who have served 40, 30 and 20 years at a ceremony held on February 23.

The medal parade was attended by the MMC of Community Safety K Rasilingwane, the municipal police commissioner IJ Mapiyeye and chiefs of police from different metropolitan regions.

Mapiyeye congratulated the officers, stating that they symbolise dedication, commitment and loyalty to the department.

The MMC said she was honoured to be part of the event and alluded that the “officers were an example to many officers and their commitments towards their profession is commendable”.

KA Smit received an award for 40 years of service. while JL Bierman, NJ Maritz, LS Phali and QJ Steernberg received recognition for 30 years of service.
NRM Didi, LP Matjomane, LM Thamage and BR Zondo were recognised for their 20 years of loyal service.
