SA Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind celebrates 70 years

The theme is Birthday Bash!, which coincides with the association’s 70th birthday this year.

The SA Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind has announced that its annual Family Fun Day fundraiser will run on March 5 on their premises.

The aim is to raise funds to continue changing the lives of visually and physically disabled people in our country.
A fun-filled programme is planned, with many exciting activities for the day.

The association’s puppies-in-training are practising hard to put their best paw forward alongside their trainers. The kennel staff are ready to share information with visitors during the kennel tours, while demonstrations from their assistance, service and guide dogs await spectators in the arena.

Dog races will add plenty of fun and laughter to the celebrations.

The Orientation and Mobility team have some interesting activities for visitors who will be challenged to step out of their comfort zone and into the shoes of a visually impaired person.

The Kids’ Zone promises a lot of fun, and they look forward to seeing the little ones there.

Visitors can enjoy the entertainment in the arena or while sipping on bubbly in the beer garden. They can also enjoy the food and find various items for sale from many vendors.

Suzuki Kyalami is proud to sponsor the association. Mix FM will broadcast live from the premises.
An appeal goes out to the public to support their ongoing mission to change lives for the visually and physically disabled.

Join the fun from 10:00 to 16:00 at 126 Wroxham Road, Paulshof. The cost is R50 for adults, R20 for pensioners and free entry for children under 12.

No pets except for assistance dogs are allowed.
