Matric results: Learners fly Boksburg High flag

The principal of the school is satisfied with 2022 matric results.

Five Boksburg High learners Karabo Makgoba, Iman Cassiem, Abigail Gengadu, Mario Luca de Abreu Rodrigues and Laquita Bennett excelled in the NSC exams.

Makgoba scored six distinctions, with Cassiem obtaining five and Gengadu, Rodrigues and Bennett attaining four.
Despite the noteworthy achievement, Makgabo said he failed to reach his goal.

“I’m still happy that I did well. I am going to study medicine at the University of Cape Town,” he said.

Cassiem said she is proud of what she has accomplished.

“My sleepless nights and hard work finally paid off. I’m happy with my overall results. I was not expecting to do this. There are times when you doubt your abilities, but today I have learned that I must not doubt myself and I can do well if I work hard,” she said.

“My plan going forward is to study an accounting science course at the University of Pretoria.”
Gengadu said she is appreciative of her results.

“I think I would not have made it without the support from my family, friends and teachers.”
Rodrigues would have liked to do better and said, “I wanted to get distinctions in all my subjects but am proud I got four.”

Bennett said her determination and hard work paid off in the end.

“I can gladly say that I’m proud of myself,” she stated.

Principal Enoch Thango is proud of the 2022 matric class, which achieved a 95.2% pass rate.

“They didn’t disappoint me. Instead, they hoisted the Boksburg High flag with pride. I’m happy with the results, but we are planning to do better with this year’s group. We will continue extra classes for the matrics as these helped a lot last year,” said Thango.
