Santa Shoebox Project shares the love with many

The number of Santa Shoebox beneficiaries now stands at 1 152 587.

Margie Kostelac, Gauteng regional manager, Santa Shoebox Project, writes:

The Santa Shoebox Project and all its precious stakeholders certainly went above and beyond to Share The Love in 2022!
Our theme touched hearts everywhere.

From the donors who so generously included a duplicate or extra item in their shoeboxes, empowering the beneficiary child to experience The Joy of Giving, to the children themselves who showered our teams of volunteers with so much love (as they missed seeing us in person for the last two years).

The Benoni City Times’ contribution of articles disseminated to in all Caxton newspapers nationally enabled our beloved project to spread the word and #ShareTheLove, playing an invaluable role in supporting our efforts.
Thanks to the Santa Shoebox community, of which you are of course a very valued member, 75 298 shoeboxes were personally handed to the very children for whom they were pledged.

The number of Santa Shoebox beneficiaries now stands at 1 152 587, which equates to 1.9% of the total South African population – and over 5% of its youth!
We had never thought of it in this context, and can thank a chance encounter with a donor at a drop off for framing our achievement in this way.

The diversity of all our role-players is at the heart of what we like to believe is South Africa’s best-loved children’s charity.
It keeps it interesting, exciting and inspiring to be able to work with a varied group of people united by the belief that the children of South Africa are its greatest asset.
